Smith, AR Alvera Jackson,77, of Spiro, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Spiro. She was born in Parks, KS September 19, 1928, to Phil and Katherin (Leiker) Depperschmidt. She was a member of the Catholic Church of Spiro, a homemaker and work at Wal-Mart as a door greater for 10 years. She was proceeded in death by her husband James E. Jackson; two grandchildren, Dustin Jackson and Jason Temple; and one great grandchild Blaze Rogers. She is survived by five sons; Kenneth Jackson of Bokoshe, Daryl Jackson of Shady Point, Kevin Jackson and Chad Jackson of Spiro and Mark Jackson of Pocola; three daughters, Kathy Temple of Commerce City, CO, Mary Dinges of Thornton, CO and Colette Chesner of Idaho; and 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many more beloved family and friends. Pallbearers will be Justin Jackson, Daryl Jackson, Brian Jackson, Bradley Jackson, Josh Napier and Luke Chesper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mattehew Dinges, Jarod Maker David Daugherty and Travis Trimble. Rosary services will be held at 5:30PM Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Spiro with Father Micheal Vincent officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
