ELMO LONG April 26, 1922 April 3, 2007 Goldsboro, North Carolina Elmo Long, formerly of Fresno, was born on April 26, 1922, in Heavener, Oklahoma to the late Elmer E. Long and Beulah Terry Long Semore. He died peacefully with his family present on Tuesday, April 3, 2007. Elmo was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Goldsboro. He was past president of the National Turkey Federation and the Fresno County 4-H Club Leader's Council. As his career took him to Iowa, then North Carolina, he remained active in both these organizations as well as the Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight of his Parish Council. His passions were his family, fishing and grilling turkey tenderloins. His awesome smile and sweetness will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Linda Hays of Fresno; and his brother, John B. Long of Heavener, Oklahoma. Mr. Long is survived by his wife Frances; his children, Judy Hurst and her husband Layne of Fresno, Susan Wisniewski and her husband, John Matsuoka of Fresno, Prissy England and her husband Danny of Iowa, Cindy Monaco and her husband Larry of North Carolina, Joey Long and his wife Lori of Tennessee, Terrie Beeson and her husband Conrad of North Carolina, Alice Marie Farrar and her husband Ellory, and Matthew Long and his wife Francine of North Carolina. He leaves 19 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.
