Ruby was born February 5, 1929 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Ruby was the fourth of six children born to John Williams and Exie Pool Williams. Ruby grew up in Spring Creek near Gracemont, and attended school in Cliffdale. Ruby married Fred William McCathern on May 9, 1946 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They moved to Mustang in 1956 where they raised their family. In 1980 they moved to Bridge Creek. Ruby enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers and being in the outdoors. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by: Parents: John Williams & Exie Pool Williams; Infant Daughter; Brother: Wilye Clevelyn Williams; Grandsons: Clifford Simpson, Michael Lynn McCathern. She is survived by Husband: Bill McCathern of Mustang; Daughters: Reba Simpson and husband Earl of Oklahoma City, Elaine Neher and husband Sam of Newalla, Rita Valencia and husband Michael of Oklahoma City, and Sandy Charles of Blanchard; Sons: Roger McCathern of Newalla, David McCathern and wife Debbie of Mustang; Sisters: Thelma Spruill of El Reno, Martha Ferguson of Anadarko, Vernie Tatum of Dallas, Texas; Brother: J.C. Williams of Moore; 18 Grandchildren and 34 Great-Grandchildren, Lacy and Hannah of the home. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, with Floyd McCathern officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Kihega, Brent Kihega, Jason Charles, Justin Fretz, Ryan Morgan, Eldon McCathern. Honorary Bearers will be Tinker McCathern, Warren Wyrick, Stephen McCathern, Chris Ziegler, Billy Boggs, Bob Brown.
