Russell "Eddie" Edward Jr. Myers July 05, 1946 - October 17, 2005 Wister, 
OK 

Graveside Service: 10:00 AM October 20, 2005 at Sallisaw City Cemetery, 
Sallisaw OK Russell “Eddie” Edward Myers, Jr., 59, of Wister (formerly of 
Sallisaw), passed away Monday, October 17, 2005 at his home. He was born 
on July 5, 1946, in Muldrow, to Russell Myers Sr. and Carrie (Burns) 
Myers. On May 12, 1995 he and Ramona McKinney were united in marriage in 
Las Vegas, Nevada. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern 
State University and made his career as a nursing home Administrator and 
owner. Also, Eddie owned and operated several laundry mats in the area. He 
served in the U. S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the 
Moose Lodge and American Legion in Sun City, Arizona and of the Sallisaw 
VFW. Eddie served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the city of Sallisaw for 
fourteen years. He was preceded in death by his mother. Eddie is survived 
by his wife Ramona of the home; his father Russell Myers, Sr. and step 
mother LaVerne of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one son Brandon Edward Myers of 
Sallisaw, Oklahoma; one daughter Jodi Lynn Myers of Dallas, Texas; two 
step children, II Lt. Scott Burnett and his wife Jennifer of Ft. Stewart, 
Georgia and Micki Jernigan and her husband Lance of Birmingham, Alabama; 
one grandson Zane Jernigan; two sisters Charlotte Martin and her husband 
Pat of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and their daughter Robyn Stewart and numerous 
other loved ones and friends. Pallbearers will be L.D. Spears, Owen Davis, 
Rex Dale Brooks, Scott Pierce, Merle Copeland, and Donnie Ales Services 
were held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 20, 2005, at Sallisaw City 
Cemetery with Jeff Little officiating. Services are under the direction of 
Grace Manor Funeral Home in Poteau.
