All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Raymond Lee Nichols 1936 - 2008 A Memorial Service will be held Fri., Dec. 5th at 11:00 a.m. at University Baptist Church, 2515 Church Ave., for Raymond Lee Nichols, who went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Nov 30, 2008. He was born Oct. 3, 1936 in Monroe, OK. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gipsy Nichols. He is also survived by his son Tony and daughter in-law Dayna Nichols; daughter, Kim and son-in law Don Worley; grandson, Jason & wife Lori Worley; granddaughters, Rachel Nichols and Shannon Worley; great grandchildren, Eddie & Amaya Limon, Isabel & Zoey Worley all of Bakersfield; sisters, Ina Green of Davis, CA, Eureda Soto of Hughson, CA; extended nieces/nephews and family members. Dad was the son of a preacher man. They moved several times during his childhood. His closest friends were his cousins. He married the love of his life Gipsy Grady, July 19, 1955 in Bakersfield, CA. He raised his family in Sacramento, CA. He worked as a truckdriver for Cream of the Valley. He never missed a day's work and even coached little league for many years. He relocated his family to Bakersfield in 1978. He went to work for Bricyn Oil. Until his health declined he and mom worked as Managers for Derrel's Mini Storage for 16 years. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Optimal Hospice, especially Felicia who was so kind to dad, The Carrington House staff, without their tender care dad would have never made it back home. Last but not least, son in-law Don whom dad loved like a son. Don helped dad any time he needed him. He went above and beyond what most sons in laws would ever do. Without Don, dad would have never been able to get out and be with the whole family on special occasions. Dad was a gentle, quiet soft spoken man but his family meant everything to him and his love for us ran deep. Nothing can fill the void in our hearts until we are reunited with him in heaven.
