Rabon September 29, 1916 - May 27, 2005 Bokoshe, OK Memorial Service: 2:00 PM June 11, 2005 at Old Bokoshe Baptist Church, Bokoshe, OK William Thomas (W.T.) Rabon, Jr. was born September 29, 1916, to William Thomas and Ora Almeda Rabon. He died on May 27, 2005, in Leflore County, Oklahoma. He was a loving father to his two children, Mary Diane Rabon and Elizabeth Ann Webb. As a young man, he served in WW II in the U.S. Navy as a Carpenters Mate Second Class. He was stationed in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. He also attended the University of Oklahoma for a time. All his adult life, his passion was owning and operating a successful farm and ranch and traveling throughout the United States and Mexico. His second passion was reading. Throughout his life, he was an avid reader. He read each National Geographic, newspaper and farm journal he received, cover-to-cover. From his love of ranching, Daddy was youthful and strong in physical appearance. He was slowed down in later years due to injuries sustained in a car accident, but this did not diminish his optimistic spirit nor weaken his love for his family and friends. He was an sincere and straightforward man. In the last years of his life, Daddy spoke lovingly of “his two little girls”, of his wonderful life, and his greatest blessing of being born the person who he was, and still is W.T. Rabon, Jr. Memorial services will be at the Old Bokoshe Baptist Church on the Twilight Road on Saturday, June, 11, 2005 at 2:00pm. Because of his great love of reading, in lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to the Literacy Council of Leflore County, phone 918-641-3833, contact: Gail Gilpin. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to LeFlore County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/leflore/leflore.htm
