All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Napa Valley Register Monday, July 5, 2004 Emma Rossi Napa -- Emma Rossi passed away July 1, 2004 at Queen of the Valley Hospital. She was born in Shady Point, Okla., to William Clayton and Birdie Beatrice Pendergrass. She was one of 10 children. After moving to Napa, Emma played softball for the Shamrocks, a traveling team, under coach Ernie Collicutt. They went to the World Series in 1958. She bowled on leagues for many years and coached in the Napa Girls Softball Leagues. Emma worked at Rough Riders, Salvation Army, Community Projects, Napa State Hospital, and Napa County Schools. She loved vacations in Lake County, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother James Pendergrass. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Ed Rossi; her children Rick Hinkle of Arkansas, Debbie Genes of Arizona, twins David and Dale Rossi, and Allen Rossi all of Napa; grandchildren Heather Rossi, Madi Rossi, Buddy Rossi, Cameron Rossi, Dustin Rossi, Nicholas Genes, and Christopher Hinkle; brothers and sisters, Grady Pendergrass of Missouri, Tom Pendergrass of Arizona, Mary Elizabeth Marsh, Harold Pendergrass, and Lou Terry all of Texas, Clayton William Pendergrass, Shirley Marie Rhodes, and Patricia Myatt of California. On July 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. there will be a viewing at Treadway & Wigger Chapel. July 8 at 10 a.m. there will be funeral services at Treadway & Wigger Chapel, after which there will be the burial at Tulocay Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend services.
