Elmer was 84 years old, born in Spiro, Okla. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lavada, of Corning, Calif., his sisters JoEllen Dickinson, Leora Rust, his daughter Sharon McDonald (husband Randy), five grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Elmer served his country in the Army during World War II. He moved to California with his family shortly after the end of the war. He worked as a building contractor for much of his life, but his true loves were his family and music. He played many musical instruments, including the guitar, bass guitar, steel guitar, and drums. He had a country western band for much of his life and once played with the Bob Wills band. He had a recording studio at his residence in Corning and made four CDs in the last few years for his family and friends to enjoy and remember him by. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E Monte Vista, Vacaville. The funeral service will be held on the following day, Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 1:00 PM. A private inurnment will take place on Jan. 11, at 1:00 PM, in Corning Cemetery, 4470 Oren Ave., Corning.
