She passed away August 7, 1994 at the Talihina Manor Nursing Home. She had been a resident of the Talihina area for most of her life. She was a housewife and a member of Grace Indian Baptist Church in Talihina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Samuel; two sons, Lawrence Samuel, Jr. and Terry Samuel; and one daughter, Janet Samuel Hayes. A wake service was held August 10, 1994. Survivors include five daughters, Mary Lynn Samuel of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Sandra Blair, Ruthie Samuel, Gwen Burgin and Tina James, all of Talihina; two sons, Larry Samuel and Gary Samuel, both of Talihina; eighteen grandchildren, one great-grandson; one brother, Sherman Hayes Wilson of Cove, Arkansas; seven sisters, Wilma Battiest of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, Elvie Cordier of Carlsbad, California, Artie Cooper of Ada, Oklahoma, Carol Schmidt of Claremore, Oklahoma, Virginia Grant of Smithville, Oklahoma, Cara Johnson of Claremore and Rozetta Carney of Smithville; numerous friends and loved ones. Services were held August 11, 1994 at the First Baptist Church in Talihina. Rev. Mike Harjo and Rev. Phillip Wade officiated. The pallbearers were her grandsons.
