All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::South Lawn Cemetery--Tucson AZ Turner, Keith TURNER, Keith, born May 26, 1925 in LeFlore, OK, died February 7, 2007 in Tucson, AZ. He served in the U.S. Army 1st Infantry Regiman as rifleman, serving in New Guinea, and the Philippines where he earned several medals during WWII. Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Eva; sister, Christine Moran and brothers, Kenneth (his twin) and Glen. He is survived by his children, Carol (Jack) Weaver, Lanelle Pratt, Dann, Evan (Kathy) and Robert (Adrienne) Turner; sisters, Dorothy Jean Ezell, Darlene Noxon; brothers, Jack, George and Billy Turner; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Keith, an extraordinary family man and loving son, quit school in 8th grade and together with his twin brother, Kenneth, went to work in the cotton fields to help support his parents' family of nine children during the depression. He was a loyal, steadfast brother who maintained loving relationships with his siblings throughout life. He married and was a strong and loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He continued his education through life pursuits and joys in breeding and racing Quarter horses. Being a practical man, he was an inventor of anything that needed doing easier, like his invention of the motorized flycatcher. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing around the campfire and a good story. A skilled plasterer and cement mason, he helped build many of Tucson's structures like the UA, Kitt Peak, Ryan Field, TIA Airport. He perfected the swirled ceiling technique in plastering. He laughed, loved, was a strong, honest, independent man who overcame hardships to raise a family and be a good friend. He believed in God, held strongly to the work ethic and doing the right thing. He will be missed by many... Services were held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY and burial followed at South Lawn Cemetery.
