Hughes and his wife Kisiah Dunlap Hughes were married in Pike County, IL in 1858. To this union the following children that we know of; Martha Francis, Carrie, William Benjamin Huffman, James E. and John E. Some of the family is buried in Hontubby Cemetery, Hontubby, Oklahoma. Martha Francis Hughes-Doyle born May 4, 1875, William Benjamin Huffman Hughes born December 21, 1865, Caroline Ann (Carrie) Hughes born about 1871, John E. Hughes born about. 1862, James Hughes born about. 1860 and Sarah E. Hughes born December 21, 1865. Martha Francis Hughes-Doyle wife of Samuel Lafayette Doyle, Jr. was the daughter of John Hughes and Kisiah Dunlap who according to Pike County, Illinois were married on April 15, 1858. Martha was born May 5, 1875. Martha died September 11, 1942 of high blood pressure. Carrie Ann married Nelson King on September 9, 1900 and they had five children; Earl, Lucille, William, Frank and Mamie. I can find the family living in Hodgen in the 1910 and 1920 Census, however after that the family seems to disappear. What happened to this family? William Benjamin Huffman Hughes married Nancy Campbell and they are buried in Hontubby Cemetery.
