All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Lincoln County, Oklahoma Obits December 5, 1940 FRANK JOHNSON As we go to press Wednesday, we learn of the sudden death Tuesday night about 11:30 of Frank Johnson, 61 year old. It is believed Mr. Johnson suffered a heart attack since he was apparently in perfect health. Mr. Johnson had lived in and near Meeker since opening of the territory to settlement when his father homesteaded a few miles east of town. Funereal arrangements have not been made at this time. Source: The Meeker Herald December 5, 1940 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- MEEKER PIONEER DIES SUDDENLY Frank Johnson, 62 years old, an early settler in Meeker, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in South Meeker Tuesday night, Dec. 3. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Thursday afternoon with a former pastor, Rev. P. D. Sawyer, of Oilton conducting. The I.O.O.F. lodge had charge of the graveside services with Jack Thompson of Chandler and W.H. Burris conducting. Bearers were fellow lodge members: Isaac Boulson, R.C. Roberts, T .J. Hampton, J.H. Herrington, I.M. Steinbrook and Perry Fullerlove. Survivors are one brother Will Johnson, two sisters, Miss May Johnson and Mrs. Mabel Holder of Meeker. Two nephews and two nieces. Charles Holder of Shawnee; Herbert, Christine and Helen Holder of Meeker.
