O. Chandler and Velma Donihoo-Chandler. He volunteered for the U.S. Navy on March 22, 1944 and after taking boot training at San diego, Ca. was sent to the base at Bremerton, Wash. He died of suffocation due to a shipboard fire on May 28, 1945. He was 18 years of age. Besides his parents he is survived by one brother, Wilbur Donald Chandler, and two sisters, Mrs. Laverta Gayer and Ilene, at home, and three grandparents - Mr. & Mrs. W.A. Donihoo and John Chandler, all of Guthrie. He is buried in the family plot at Summit View Cemetery.
