On November 8, 1865 in Collin County, Texas he married Margaret Morgan, born July 1845 in Ala. In 1869 they moved to Harmony Township, Hancock County, Ill. In 1877 they returned to Collin County, Texas until they made the Iowa Indian Land Run of 1891, where they settled on a homestead in Garden, Oklahoma, 3 miles west of Fallis, OK. Margaret Dill died between the census of 1900 and January 1907 and is buried in the Evansville Cemetery. Roland died in the home of a grandson, William McKenzie in Coyle, OK., on February 25, 1921 and is buried in the Evansville Cemetery. They are survived by 4 of their 5 children, 1 son, James Dill, born in 1877 died about 1898 after a severe back injury while driving a wagon. He too is buried in Evansville Cemetery.
