All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Cordelia Taylor Donnell Cordelia Taylor was born August 13, 1875, in Franklin County, Kansas and departed this life on March 12, 1944 at Guthrie, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years and 7 months and 29 days. At the age of three (3) Cordelia Taylor moved to Howard Kansas with her parents, George P. {Perry} Taylor and Mary Bell Taylor where they lived or thirteen (13) years. At the age of 16 they moved to Oklahoma arriving here October 7, 1891. They lived on a farm one- half mile west of Tohee where she attended school at the Iowa Indian Village. Cordelia Taylor was united in Marriage to Joseph {Kennedy}Donnell on March 27, 1895 and to this union was born 11 children. One child, Bertha Mildred, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her parting her husband and faithful companion, Joseph Donnell of Guthrie, and ten children. Mrs. Dona Graham of Luther, Okla., Leonard Donnell, Okomah, Oklahoma, William J. Donnell Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Bessie Tribble, Harvey Donnell, Mrs. Lottie Mills, Cordelia Donnell and Edith Donnell all of Guthrie and Opal Donnell andMrs. Inez Nunley of Oklahoma City. She also leaves one sister Mrs. MattieArmstrong, Texas and two brothers George P. Taylor of Gemet Californiaand Charles Taylor of Santa Ana, California. She leaves 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Her husband, ten children and sister were with her at the time of her death. Cordelia and Joseph Donnell made their home in Iowa Township Logan County, Oklahoma on a homestead which her husband received in the run of 1891 that opened the Indian Territory for settlement. Here this pioneer woman gave her best to establish a wholesome community in which to rear her family. Her tireless efforts, her care and thoughtfulness of others caused her to be loved and respected by all who know her. She devoted her life to her family and her neighbors. She rendered constant service to any pioneer family in sickness or in sorrow. She was active in establishing a school for the education of her children, and was one of the first to assist in the organization of a Sunday School and Church in that community. Added by William B Donnell: The Joseph Donnells' left the farm in 1923 to run a cafe in Harrah,Ok.This was while they were building the large electric plant ( that Wm. Joseph worked on). However due to grandma's bad leg they had to move back to the farm after a couple of years. They stayed on the farm until the early `30's before moving to Guthrie, Ok. Also on little Bertha's death ------ she didn't die due to a wagon accident. Grandpa had given her some berries the night before she died.He paced the cornfield all night long blaming himself. However, she died of a childhood ailment.
