She was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Guthrie, Okla., and attended Faver High School and Langston University, both in Oklahoma. Nan taught briefly in Oklahoma and at I.M. Terrell High School, Dunbar Middle and High Schools and Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth. Nan enjoyed her teaching career, especially her 20-plus years spent at Trimble Tech High School, where she was known to show her school spirit through attending the football games with her husband and family and collecting the school's mascot, bulldogs. She married Donald C. Fulbright on April 16, 1960. They were married 45 years and were very devoted to each other. Mrs. Fulbright supported her husband throughout their marriage and his ministry in the churches of Christ at the Lake Como, Mitchell Boulevard and Metropolitan congregations in Fort Worth. She was an excellent cook, loving mother and grandmother, loyal friend and loving Christian. She nurtured hundreds of youngsters, providing inspiration and encouragement for them to become contributing citizens. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and, although not able to actively participate, remembered her days in the sorority fondly and maintained a small collection of elephants in its honor. Her biggest joy was her family to whom she devoted her entire life, first as a daughter and sister, then as a wife and mother, and finally as a grandmother.
