Dorothy was born March 7, 1910 in Crescent, Okla. to Charles and Emma Kate Baker. She died Nov. 30, 1999 at the home of her son in Grand Junction, Colo. Dorothy grew up in Guthrie and graduated from Guthrie High School. She attended college in Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred Eldringhoff. She is survived by her son, James Carl and wife Colleen of Grand Junction; four granddaughters, Pamela Welter and husband Joe, Penny and Dennis Odwyer of Grand Junction, Patty and Ernie Patton of Banning, Calif. and Peggy Eldringhoff of Hot Springs, Calif.; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joy Meeks of Pueblo, Colo., Twila Vaughn of Tulsa, and Charline Sasser of Guthrie; one brother, Frank Baker and Ella of Cape Coral, Fla. Dorothy and Fred met at Gage, Okla. They lived at West Plains, Mo. until the war, when in 1941 they moved to Pueblo, Colo. where he worked for the Ammunition Depot. After retirement they made another move to Delta. They enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dorothy was a wonderful sister. During our mother's illness she helped care for her. After Mother died she and Joy took care of us smaller ones, being always kind and patient with us. She worked for a doctor in Gage. Dorothy will be greatly missed. He died Dec. 2, 1999 at Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie. Henry was a farmer and a carpenter and was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Gertrude Fisher on March 24, 1934 in Oklahoma City. Gertrude preceded him in death in 1998. Lella was preceded in death by her husband, A.W., in 1996, two sisters and both parents. She is survived by three sons, Marcellus House and Inman Stacy House, both of Guthrie and Carlton House of Beaumont, Texas; two daughters, Ramona Tiger and Serita Patton, both of Guthrie. On April 4, 1928 she was wed to Walter William Wegner, to this union were born two daughters, Helen Mae Gillett and Jo Ann Groom. In 1973, she married Ernest G. Gillett. She was preceded in death by both husbands; one granddaughter, Bonnie Lu Groom; two grandsons, Thomas and William Gillett; her parents; stepfather; a brother and a sister. She is survived by two daughters, Helen M. Gillett of Guthrie and Jo Ann Groom and husband Charles of Stroud, Okla.; four grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Elva Johnson of Enid. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was the first president of the organization. Oscar was born March 21, 1905 to Otto and Anna (Ess) Burst on the family farm northeast of Guthrie in Oklahoma Territory. His gentle spirit went to the Lord on Dec. 2, 1999. Oscar married Lava (Bobbie) Grapes on June 15, 1929 in Chickasha, Okla. She preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 1992. Oscar also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim; grandson Gregory Lundy and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Fishkin and her husband Steven of Oklahoma City;son Richard Burst and wife Judy of Raymondville, Texas; daughter- in-law Margie Burst of Venice, Fla.; 11 beloved grandchildren and two step- grandchildren who gave him much love and joy; eight great-grandchildren who surrounded him with happiness and fun, six great-great-grandchildren; sister- in-law Julia Ann Schwemin and many nieces and nephews that were so loving to him. Oscar loved giving to others. He was very active in St. Mary's Parish for many, many years. He loved baseball and until the day he died, he wore his Texas Rangers baseball cap. His story telling and his wit gave us such pleasure and laughter. We thank you for your grace and we know you are at peace. Tamara died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999 at her residence south of Crescent. Tamara was born Aug. 31, 1940 in Oakland, Calif. to Ernest and Betty "Black" Jones. She was a real estate agent and she owned and operated the Zollinger Real Estate Office with her husband for many years. Tamara married Veldon Zollinger on June 3, 1971. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Crescent and was a very vibrant and outgoing person. She is survived by her husband, Veldon, of the home; her father, Ernest Jones, of the home; four daughters, Teicole Johnson and husband, Justin, of Crescent; Tonya Bagley and husband, Phil of Crescent; Teresa Stout and husband, Lee of Ponca City, Okla. and Tina Perry and husband, Phil, of Newport, N.C.; one brother, Rocky Jones of Ennis, Texas and some very special friends, Tammy Kordelski, Tara Smith, Gaylee Sanderson, Sissie Fisher, Susie Boatman and Donna Neese. Published - Tuesday, December 7, 1999 Schmitt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Graveside services for Martinus "Martin" Andrew Schmitt, 99, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at Roselawn Cemetery in Mulhall, Okla. under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee, Okla. Martin was born Dec. 15, 1899 in Osborne, Osborne County, Kan. to Michael "Mike" Schmitt and Franziska 'Frances" Weiger Schmitt. He passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Pawnee, having reached the age of 99 years, 11 months, and 19 days. He moved to Mulhall, Oklahoma Territory on April 4, 1906 with his parents and two sisters by train from Blue Hills, Mitchell County, Kan. He grew to manhood near Mulhall, Logan County, Okla. and worked in the oilfields in Osage County, Okla. as a young man. Martin Married Sarah Ellen Mayfield on May 21, 1929 in Perry, Noble County, Okla., and she preceded him in death on March 23, 1999. They moved to Pawnee County in 1933 and lived north of Pawnee on an acreage where they engaged in farming. On Christmas day 1937, they moved with their two young daughters, eight miles southwest of Pawnee by team and wagon, and a model-T truck. He farmed cotton and wheat, milked cows, and raised cattle and chickens. He sold cream and eggs, and milked cows until the 1960s. They sold their farm in November 1987 and moved into Pawnee in December of that same year. Martin belonged to the Farmer's Union and was one of the first farmers to sign an agreement with the Soil Conservation District of Pawnee County in May 1948. His first job was to terrace his cropland. He helped his wife, who taught school and was the 4-H leader, with 4-H activities and his daughters with their livestock, gardening and handicraft projects. Martin and his wife were honored in November 1986 with the Citation of Congratulations from the State of Oklahoma on being named "Conservationist of the Month" by the Pawnee County Conservation District Board of Directors. The citation was signed by Senator John L. Dahl. Besides his wife, Sarah, he was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mary Emma Schmitt in 1933; one grandson, Michael Kelley; two brothers: Johnie Schmitt and Joseph Schmitt; and four sisters; Lena Schmitt, Katherine Knittle, Anna Shaffer and Mary Jane Walton. Martin is survived by Wilma Jean Kelley and her husband, Billy, of Pawnee, and Evelyn Deloris Trissell and her husband W. Alvin, of Vinita, Okla.; eight grandchildren: Sharon Lakey, Martin Kelley, Pamela Ware and Wallace Kelley, of Pawnee, Darrel Trissell and Charlotte Flock, of Vinita, Nina Miller of Indianapolis, Ind., Kevin T. She grew up in Guthrie, attending South Riverside rural school and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1953. She married Gerald "Soc" Nelson in August 1957. Togehter they operated Nelson Aviation and managed the Guthrie Airport for nine years. She had spent the last 12 years working for G.H.M. at the Harrison House and the Best Western. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Whittington and her grandson, Chris Coleman. She is survived by her mother, Helen Whittington of Guthrie; her daughter, Pam Mitchell and husband Ken of Coyle, Okla.; her son, Gerald Nelson Jr. of Norman, Okla.; her two grandsons, Geoff Coleman, Nik Labus; Gerald "Soc" Nelson and many other loving family members and friends. Bessie Beatrice Reid Patmon was born Jan. 24, 1918 in Meridian, Okla. to Yancy Henry and Carrie Bonnie Mae Allen Reid. She died Dec. 7, 1999 in Edmond, Okla. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bose C. Patmon, a son, Louis C. Patmon and a daughter, Dorothy Mae. Westeen had lived in the Guthrie area since 1991 moving here from Oklahoma City. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the North I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Dephana died Dec. 9, 1999 at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie, Okla. She was born March 16, 1911, the 10th child of C. George and Jessie (Brown) Beeby. Dephana was baptized at the age of 12 at the Marshall Christian Church. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1929, and has been a member of the Marshall Rebekah Lodge No. 196 since the age of 18. Dephana and Glen O. Dishman were married Sept. 21, 1932 at the home of Dr. Wilford E. Powell in Enid, Okla. They were the owners of several businesses over the years. In 1969, they purchased the Marshall Drug Store. After Glen's death on April 30, 1969, Dephana continued to operate the store until she retired in July 1981. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1929. Dephana is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law; Donna Crossfield of Marshall and Glenna and George Streetman of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Seefeldt of Stillwater and many nieces and nephews. He died Dec. 9, 1999 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. Delbert moved to Guthrie in 1974 from Idabel, Okla. He was a retired Methodist minister and a member of the Methodist Conference. He became pastor of his first church in 1952 and pastored churches in Idabel, Grove and Guthrie. He was the writer of two published books and attended Phillips University and Oklahoma City University. Delbert married Kay Tryon on July 22, 1952 in Guymon, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents. She was been in failing health for the past two years. After leaving OSU, he joined the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam War on the USS Pritchett, and was a naval instructor at US Naval Base in Olathe, Kan. After leaving the military he joined Western Broadcasting, and was the youngest television station manager in their history. He worked in sales positions and was always one of the top salesmen. Most recently, he worked for Graybar Electric Company, Inc. out of Oklahoma City. He returned to Crescent with his wife, Sharon, to live at the Journeys End Ranch where his love of fishing, hunting and the outdoors filled his last days. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a perpetual member of the Albert Pike Lodge No. 162, AF and AM, a member of the India Shriners, active in the clowns and a lifetime friend of the National Rifle Association. She is survived by a son, Reginald Sullivan of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters: Mary Sullivan of Killeen, Texas, Barbara Money of Plano, Texas, Marilyn Sullivan of Tucson, Ariz.. and Brenda Wright of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Norman Brooks of Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters, Lillian Howard, Bernice McKinney, Henrietta Phillips and Myrtle Allen, all of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Dutcher, 83, of El Reno, Okla., will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2000 at the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.Rev. Clyde O. Womack, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, will be officiating. Guy died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at the Sunset Estates Nursing Center.He was born on June 7, 1916 in Guthrie, Okla. Guy grew up in Guthrie and later moved to El Reno where he was a resident.Guy worked for General Mills, Penwright Grain, and later retired from Evergreen Mills.He was a retired farmer, and member of the Highland Baptist Church. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eathel (Hall) Dutcher;daughter, Glenda McHargue; son,Art Dutcher;three sisters, Elizabeth, Georgia, and Leona; two brothers, Raymond and Wayne. Survivors include his wife, Irene (Jones) Dutcher of the home; son, Steve Dutcher and his wife, Kira, of Yukon, Okla.; brother,Bennie Dutcher of Guthrie, Okla.; sister,Edith Marang of Coyle, Okla.; five grandchildren, LaDawna Jameson, Joe McHargue, Zachary Dutcher, Joshua Dutcher, and Ross Edwards; three great-grandchildren, Shelby and Justin Jameson, and Alex Edwards; numerous other relatives and friends.
