Norman Transcript 02 Sep 2003 Dorothy May Hafner Dorothy May Hafner, 76, of Orlando died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at Perry Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lucien United Methodist Church with the Rev. C.M. Wilson will officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery in Orlando. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Mrs. Hafner was the daughter of Ernest and Lillian (Smith) Spillman. She was born July 25, 1927, in Perry. She married Merle Hafner Aug. 4, 1946, in Perry. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, square dancing and playing dominoes. She was a member of the Lucien United Methodist Church and the Lucien UMW. She volunteered at the Cherokee Strip Museum. She is survived by her husband, Merle Hafner; a son, Gary Hafner and wife, Amy, of Norman; a daughter, Denise Bay and husband, Ronnie, of Perry; three granddaughters, Kari Keating, Rachel Hafner and Olivia Hafner, all of Norman; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-stepgrandchildren; a brother, Amos “A.C.” Spillman and wife, Christine, of Atoka; and two sisters, Donna Brengle and husband, Kenneth, of Perry and Dorlene Cook and husband, Paul, of Ponca City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lillian Spillman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucien United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
