Ford officiating. Burial will be in Seward cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home. Hogg will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 12 noon, Friday, at the funeral home. He died Sunday night of gunshot wounds. He was born October 22, 1940 at Seward and was a member of the United Baptist Church at Seward. He was a construction worker. Survivors are his wife, Opal, of the home at 322 S. 2nd, five children; Felicia, Onetta, Theresa, Elmer Jr., and Robin, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hogg, Rt 2, Guthrie; six sisters, Mrs. Opal Cherry, Mrs. Phelia Ellis, Mrs. Bobbie Carter, Mrs. Dynanie Dewberry, Mrs. Lois Traylor and Mrs. Elnora Jackson; three brothers, Marvin, Leonard and Thomas Hogg.
