Ray Manard, of Erick, Oklahoma delivering the funeral sermon. Interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Tunnard Funeral Home. Carrie Irene Allenbrand was born at Pattonbsburg, Missouri, January 8, 1875 and passed away at the home of a daughter, near Reydon, Oklahoma June 1, 1945. She was married to Jesse L. Jackson in Davis County, Missouri, August 21, 1895. To this union nine children wered born. One of the children and the husband preceded her in death leaving eight children surviving, who are: Zella Swope, Pearl Bessire, and Rubye Brewer, all of Reydon, Oklahoma; Cpl. Jesse L. Jackson of the Coast Guard Artillery, now in the Pillipines; Bertha Smith of Tucson, Arizsona; Irma Jackson of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Vina Arnold of Deming, New Mexico; and David L. Jackson, of Cheyenne. Mrs. Jackson united with the Methodist church at the early age of sixteen and remained firm in her religious convictions throughout her life, being a member of the Cheyenne Methodist church at the time of her passing. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, with there small children, came to Logan County, Oklahoma, in 1900. They moved from there to the farm-ranch south of Cheyenne in 1903. Here they lived until the death of the husband and father in 1940. Later Mrs. Jackson moved to a home in Cheyenne, but for the past two years, because of failing health, has resided with ther children. The Jackson's reared and schooled their children under pioneer conditions. They were active in community affairs and in Sundsay School and church work in the rural district in which they lived. Their home has always been open to their many friends and was filled every Sunday with many young people of the neighboorhood who alwayd met a warm welcome. Mrs. Jackson was a typical home woman, devoted to her family. Her death will leave a vacant place in the hearts of the members of the family and her many friends.
