All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Skyline Memorial Gardens--Portland OR Jarrell, Olan Burel 1916-2007 Olan Burel "OB" Jarrell died on June 18, 2007, at the age 90. He was interred at Skyline Memorial Gardens. OB passed away quickly from a ruptured aneurysm. He spent a great Father's Day with family and was happy to receive the news of the birth of twin great-grandchildren. He was born 90 years ago, the middle of three boys, in Guthrie, Okla., on Sept. 12, 1916. He worked in the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma. In 1942 he married Ruth Sloan; she passed away in 1997. During World War II he served as a tank gunner in Europe. He moved to Portland in 1952 and owned his own service station. He later went to work with the Supercargo and Checkers Union Local 40. He retired from the waterfront as a berth supervisor in 1981. Survivors include daughters, Donna Deaton, Milwaukie, and Margarette Campbell, Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by daughter, Betty Jarrell.
