All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Kellogg, Charles Albert 1921 - 2005 Charles Albert Kellogg, 84, a beloved father, grandfather and brother, went home to the Lord Thursday, March 24, 2005, at his home. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Shannon North Funeral Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Vigil service: 7 p.m. Sunday at Shannon North Funeral Chapel. Charles was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Guthrie, Okla., where he grew up, to Newton Perry and Verna Irene Breaker Kellogg. He came from a musical family and learned to play the flute as a child. He and his older sisters performed with his father's orchestra on many occasions. He gained great joy in playing his guitar and he was even teaching himself to play the piano. He served in the 2nd Division, 9th Infantry, during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. He took part in the Normandy invasion on Omaha Beach. After receiving his degree from Central State University in Edmond, Okla. Mr. Kellogg moved to River Oaks with his wife and daughter in 1951. The retired senior design engineer from General Dynamics served his community as a River Oaks city councilman and later he sat on the city zoning board. He and his wife were members of St. Paul's Catholic Church in River Oaks. Mr. Kellogg was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Myra Mae Tegeler Kellogg; father, Newton Perry Kellogg; mother, Verna Irene Breaker Kellogg West; sisters, Clara May Kellogg Jeter and Clarise June Kellogg Cordes; and nephew, Danny Forest Cordes. Survivors: Daughters, Sandra Martin and husband, Travis of River Oaks, Carla Hoysradt and husband, Kurt of Euless and Debra McGrath and husband, Brian of Weatherford; son, Bruce Kellogg of River Oaks; sister, Dorothy and brother-in-law, Stanley Frosch, of Edmond, Okla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Olan and Verla Tegeler of Worthington, Iowa; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
