All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 7 June 2004 :Rose Hill Cemetery--Chickasha OK ERCYLE FERN (CHURCH) MISER Graveside service for Ercyle Fern (Church) Miser, 102, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha. After living a full and active life Ercyle Fern (Church) Miser passed away Saturday, June 5, 2004, in McCaskill Nursing Home in Maysville, Oklahoma, at the age of 102. She was born on March 21, 1902, in Meridian, Oklahoma. Receiving her teaching certificate from OSU, she moved to teach at Friend School in 1924. Ercyle Church married Hubert Miser in 1926 and began their many years of farming on the Washita River just east of Chickasha. Ercyle was involved in the Grady County Home Extension Club. She attended Epworth United Methodist Church and at the age of 85 became a Grady County hospital volunteer. Ercyle loved to constantly challenge her mind by working crossword puzzles, playing scrabble, and she always enjoyed a game of pitch. Ercyle is preceded in death by one son, H. C. Miser in 1945, and her beloved husband, Hubert, in 1985. Loving and always remembering her are her two daughters, Jean West and husband Ted of Chickasha, Frances Arthur Grimes and husband Richard of Maysville; four grandchildren, Lewis Arthur of Pauls Valley, Philip West of Chickasha, Lisa Arthur of Oklahoma City, and Alice Roberts (West) of Edmond; as well as five great grandchildren.
