Mr. Pickard was born September 6, 1923 at Guthrie, OK to Leonard and Lethia (Penrod) Pickard. He was preceded in death by: his wife Darline; his parents; and his brothers Lee Robert and Doyle. Ray married the love of his life, Darline Pickard on May 8, 1945 in Spokane, Washington, and to this union they had two sons, Kenneth and Glenn. Ray was a World War II veteran and he retired from civil service after many years of dedicated service to his country. He was a charter member of Dumas Avenue Baptist Church, 41 year member of American Legion Member Post 170, Midwest City, and member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 85. Ray's family was his life; he served as a Scout Leader and a YMCA baseball coach. He will also be remembered as being an avid OU fan. Survivors include his sons, Kenneth of Duncan, OK, and Glenn and Thelma Pickard, and his one grandson, Jason Matthew Pickard of OKC, and many relatives and friends. Services to celebrate his life will be 10:00 AM Mon., Mar. 3, 2003 in the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith Mortuary, Pastor Mike Stephens officiating.
