All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Summit View Cemetery--Guthrie OK Porter, Dorsalee Mildred Dorsalee Mildred Porter, 72, passed away April 27, 2003 at her home in Guthrie, OK. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday April 30th, at the First Assembly of God, Guthrie, OK with Pastor Don Gaitlin officiating. Interment will be at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, OK under the direction of Community Funeral Home. Dorsalee was born August 31, 1930 in Drumright, OK to P.S. and Mildred (Tolson) Gard. She was married to Elmer Port on August 5, 1947 in Ozark, AR. She attended school in Agra, OK and lived in Guthrie most of her life. Dorsalee Mildred Porter was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Guthrie, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 1 stepsister and 1 grandson. She is survived by husband, Elmer Porter of the home; 1 son and 5 daughters: Delmer and wife Doreen of Oklahoma City, Gloria Martin and husband Butch, Glenda Church and husband Randy, Judy Thompson and husband Vance, Susan Blount and husband Daniel all of Guthrie and Sheila Waymire and husband David of Jacksonville, AR; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clyde Howard of Colorado and Jim Howard and wife Freda of Tryon, Oklahoma. She loved making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She was a very good seamstress, even making one of her daughters' wedding gown and twirling and cheerleading costumes. Dorsalee really enjoyed reading, working crossword and word find puzzles and she was an excellent cook. She also loved her church family. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was loved by everyone and will truly be missed by all who knew her. Viewing will be Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Condolences may be emailed to the family at SFHGuthrie@aol.com.
