All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Corbett FH-- Snelling, Robert Daniel GUTHRIE, Okla. - Robert Daniel "Dan" Snelling, 52, of Guthrie, Okla., a petroleum engineer who was raised in Judith Gap, died of an aortic aneurysm Tuesday in Oklahoma City. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guthrie. Corbett Funeral and Cremation Service of Oklahoma City is handling arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Melissa Snelling; a stepson, Warren Presnell, both of Guthrie; his parents, Robert and Rosalie Snelling of Judith Gap; brothers Greg and Jennifer Snelling of Las Vegas, Tim and Cheryl Snelling of Bangor, Pa., Larry and Brenda Snelling of Judith Gap; sisters, Mary and Kevin LaBreche and Kate Snelling, both of Beaverton, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Harlowton, Mont., the oldest of six children born to Robert and Rosalie Snelling. He was raised on the family ranch near Judith Gap. He received his schooling in Judith Gap, graduating in 1973. Dan then attended Montana Tech in Butte, graduating in 1977 with a degree in petroleum engineering. For 23 years, he worked for Marathon in Cody, Wyo., and two more years in Oklahoma City and Houston. Following his retirement from Marathon, he took a job with Devon Energy. In 1977, Dan married Louise Pearson; they later divorced. On Aug. 6, 1994, Dan was united in marriage to Melissa Presnell. Donations in Dan's memory may be made to the Judith Gap Fire Department.
