All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Joseph Elmer Wyant Joseph Elmer "Joe" Wyant, 93, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 9, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will be in Llano Mausoleum by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mr. Wyant was born in Orlando, Okla. He attended Oklahoma A&M University in 1948. He was a founder of Wagner and Wyant Drilling Co., a company engaged in gas and oil production, later selling to Leonard Hudson Drilling Co. of Pampa. In 1958, he moved to Jay, Okla., and engaged in the cattle and ranching business. He returned to Amarillo in 1981. He married Opal Loal Cobler in 1926. She died in 1989. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Desda "Diz" Wallis, in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Eva Jo Taylor of Amarillo and Mary Lee Rodman of Miami, Okla.; a brother, Willis Wyant of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
