The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Alice Marie Reed Services for Alice Marie Reed, 63, of Nocona, Texas, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, at the Assembly of God Church in Nocona, with Chuck Schobert, Clifford Allred and Edwin Brooks officiating. Mrs. Reed was born June 6, 1938, at Grandfield, the daughter of Clarence and Zula Duke Calhoun. She died September 21, 2001, at Nocona General Hospital. Mrs. Reed worked for Nocona General Hospital in the kitchen for 23 years before she retired. She and Glen Elmo "Buddy" Reed were married June 6, 1956, and he preceded her in death March 8, 2000. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Windle White of Gainesville, Texas, Sandy and Randy Trice of Denton, Texas, Patricia and Ron LaPointe of Muenster, Texas, and Linda and B.J. Lambert of Marietta; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christi Reed of Nocona; two sisters, Mildred Fritz of LaGrange, Texas, and Kathy Davis of Frederick; three brothers, Oscar Calhoun of Hollister and Alfred Calhoun and Donald Calhoun of Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Reed was also preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers were Tim Reed, Brice Gibbs, Richard Beverage, Daron White, Kevin Ratliff and Brandon Ratliff. Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Reed, Roger Ramsey, W.R. Yarbrough, Mike Embry and Scott Embry. Interment was in Montague Cemetery, under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home, Nocona.
