Bailey, veteran of the Civil War, passed away at the Oklahoma Confederate Home in this City Monday, January 26 at 9:17 A.M. The body was taken to Bette's Funeral Home pending arrival of relatives. Mr. Bailey was born in Leake County Mississippi March 24, 1845. He served during the Civil War in the Army of the Confederacy as a member of Co. F. 20th Ms. Inf. He was recently married and his wife was a member of the old soldiers home. Other relatives are two daughters, Mrs. T.J. Haynes of Washington , Ark. and Mrs. J.H. Smith of Fort Smith Ark; five sons, Robert of Denton, Tex; Paul of Oklahoma City,; Joe and Hayes of Monrovia, Calif, Louis of Norman; Mrs. W.L. Crouch of 920 N. Washington is the grand-daughter. I.T. Ponder of Wapanucka, Ok., a friend of Mr. Bailey will be here to attend the funeral Tuesday- Tuesday's Ardmoreite His body was brought to Marietta Wednesday for interment. The Rev. E.M. Dunsworth and the Masonic Lodge conducted the services. The above named gentleman lived in Marietta for many years before going to Ardmore and was well and favorably know. The Monitor and his many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: This is my great Uncle. Three other brothers served with Lewis in the 20th Ms. They were my Great grandfather, William Edwin Bailey, Ezekiel M. Bailey and Robert N. Bailey.
