Dwight Hawkins and Dr. Virgil Trout officiating. Mr. Miller was born November 21, 1934, at Marlow, the son of W.R. and Ida B. "Hill" Miller. He died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at the Love County Health Center. A longtime Leon resident, Mr. Miller was raised at Addington, where he graduated from high school. He and Jacque I. Monkres were married June 13, 1953, at Gainesville, Texas. He lived in several area towns before returning to Leon. He farmed and ranched most of his life, and also worked in the oilfields. Mr. Miller was a member of the Leon Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jacque of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Vicky Miller of Overbrook and Jaylin and Kelley Miller of Lone Grove; four grandchildren, Cody Miller, Mackenzie Miller, Kolton Miller and Jace Miller; two sisters, Melba Martin of Belles, Texas, and Wilma Smith of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Joel Miller of Bray and James Miller of Red Oak; a brother-in-law, Pierce Monkres of De Sota, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Joan Arthur and Jeleen Sumrall of Red Oak, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Buddy Petty, Glennis Hartman, Buddy Clark, Larry Graham, Dutch Langston, Donnie Reed, Timmy Arthur and Cody Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Jim and Sharon Young, Joe Russell, Jimmy Frazier, John Reed, Louis and James Blakley and Ann Langston. Interment was in Leon Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson. Memorials may be made to the Leon Alumni Association Center, P.O. Box 71, Leon, OK 73441.
