Officiating were Rev. Chief Lawson and Rev. Mike Castanos. Mrs. Hill was born September 29, 1907, at Mt. Vernon, Texas, and died October 18, 1998, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. She was the daughter of William Harry and Delilah Lane Brown. A resident of Love County for 68 years. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and retired as a cook from the Marietta Livestock Auction. She was a member of the Shady Dale Baptist Church and a charter member of the Shady Dale Extension Club. She and J.G. "Dink" Hill were married May 4, 1929, in Mt. Vernon. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Billy C. and Jerry Lynn Hill of Marietta; three sisters, Jewel Foster of Marietta, and May Shurbet and Cora Cooper of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband on April 30, 1981; a son, Edwin Hill on April 16, 1979; and a daughter, Wanda Dixon on June 24, 1995. Arrangements were under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Brad Dixon, Daryl Dixon, Bobby Joe Hill, Wayne Mays, Bill Siller, Mike Hill, Mark Hill, Scott Birdsall, Bobby Lee Olive and Dan Brush.
