The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Bill Roy Pruitt Graveside services for Bill Roy Pruitt, 65, of Abbeville, Alabama, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Belleville-Bourland Cemetery in Courtney, with Rev. David Brantley officiating. Mr. Pruitt was born August 7, 1936, in Ringling, and died April 21, 2002, in Henry County, Alabama. He lived the early years of his life in Ringling and joined the United States Navy, where he served 22 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After his military tenure, he moved to Texas, where he worked for Taylor Diving for several years. Mr. Pruitt moved to Alabama in June 2001 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter, Felicia Starling of Dothan, Alabama; mother, Nola Mae Pruitt of Gainesville, Texas; three brothers, Russell Pruitt of Arlington, Texas, T.J. Pruitt of Fullerton, California, and James Pruitt of Marquette Michigan; and one granddaughter. Pallbearers were Gerald Letkiewicz, Steven Montie Letkiewicz, Billy Chad Lawson, Bruce Sharp, J.B. Sharp, Tommy Pickens, and honorary bearer Steve Ross. Services were under the directionof Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Craddock Funeral Home, Ardmore, announcing the services.
