                        Obit for Chris Rhyne

Services for Chris Rhyne, 17, of Burneyville, were held at 10 a.m., Saturday,
December 23, at Freeman Auditorium, Turner School, with Bro. Jimmy May and the
Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating.

Chris was born October 11, 1983, in Ardmore, the son of Claud and Cindy Romines
Rhyne. He died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, in Mercy Health Love County,
Marietta.

He had lived in Marietta and Rubottom and was a resident of Falconhead. Chris
was a student at Turner School and attended the Rubottom Baptist Church. His
hobbies included playing Playstation games, and watching movies and sports on
television.

Survivors include his parents, Claud and Cindy Rhyne of the home; grandparents,
R.B. and Sharon Romines of Rubottom; aunt and uncle, Jeff and Janet Smith of
Rubottom; cousins, Brook Romines and Jessica Smith, both of Rubottom; his
school aide, "Granny" Imogene Palmer of Leon; and International Exchange
brothers, Lucas Weber of Brazil, Marek Piotroski of Poland, Felipe Mao of
Brazil and Mauro Chuchuy of Argentia.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claud E. Rhyne and LaWana
Rhyne; great-grandparents, Dorothy Patty, Violet Batson and Fannie Romines; an
aunt, Patty Rhyne; and two uncles, Ralph Romines and Rickey Romines.

Pallbearers were Bobby Phillips, James Branscum, Bobby Branscum, Jeff Hicks,
William Shankles and James Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were all classmates of
Turner High School.

Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, was under the direction of Flanagan-
Watts Funeral Home.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the Muscular Dystrophy
Association, c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
