The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Cecil Thomas Massey Services for Cecil Thomas Massey, 80, of Lebanon, were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 21, in the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, with Danny Cabaniss officiating. Mr. Massey was born December 28, 1919, at Powell, the son of Thomas Layfatte and Sealia Harriet Blevins Massey. He died Thursday, October 19, 2000, in the Madill nursing home. He was reared in Lebanon, and later lived in Billings, Montana, where he worked for the Glacier Bit Company. Mr. Massey was a member of the Elks Club in Billings. He moved back to Lebanon, where he spent the rest of his life and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Maxine Orr of Lebanon, Margaret Massey of Madill, and Flora Vickers of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Layfatte and Sealia Harriet Blevins Massey. Pallbearers were Alex Sandefur, Terry Phillips, A.A. Jeffrey, Willie Bridgeman, J.C. Harris and Levoice Hargis. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery, under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Published in the Marietta Monitor, Love County, October 27, 2000.
