A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Wallace was born January 15, 1920, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Clarence William and Edith Carter Wallace. He died Saturday, October 27, 2001, in Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore. Mr. Wallace had been a resident of Marietta since November 1981, moving here from Woodville, Texas. He and Wylene Rhea were married July 24, 1948, in Britton. A graduate of Britton High School, Mr. Wallace also graduated from Draughan's Business School in Oklahoma City. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three Bronze Battle Stars, the Air Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Wallace was a member of the American Legion in Marietta and the Masonic Lodge of Yukon. He was the owner of the Bud Wallace Heating/Air Conditioning Company and also the OU Plumbing Company in Oklahoma City. Mr. Wallace was a member of the Nazarene Church. Survivors include his wife, Wylene Wallace of the home; a son, Eddie Wallace of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Edie Vetoyanis of Yukon; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward Wallace and Harry Wallace; a sister, June Butler; and a granddaughter, Brandy Goodall. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Sherman, Fred Sherman, Jack Jones, Mike Welch, Scott Welch, Scott Wallace, Brad Goodall, Barry Gantt, Zac Vetoyanis and Justin Jones. Interment is in Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan- Watts Funeral Home, Marietta. Source: Marietta Monitor, Love County, November 2, 2001.
