"Pete" Jones Graveside services for David A. "Pete" Jones, 71, of Thacker-ville, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 13, at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating. Mr. Jones was born August 23, 1930, in Thackerville, the son of Daniel Zade and Martha Pauline Chaney Jones. He died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore. Born and raised at Thackerville, Mr. Jones attended school there and returned to Thackerville in 1977 to make his home. He and Peggy Boatner were married March 2, 1951, in Ardmore. Mr. Jones was a truck driver for 26 years, and after returning to Thackerville, he worked as a janitor at the Thackerville School. He was a member of the Thackerville Community Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jones of the home; three sons, David T. Jones of Fort Worth, Texas, Donald Jones of Springtown, Texas, and Timothy Jones of Azle, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Black of Clearwater, Florida; two brothers, A.D. Jones of Thackerville and Dick Jones of Las Vegas; five sisters, Emma McGuffy of Dallas, Ethelene Craft, Ruth Pinkston and Patricia Bozeman of Thackerville, and Zadella Darter of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rozella Green. Honorary pallbearers were James Maggard, Roy Bozeman, Danny Sampson, Guy Allen Sampson, Tyrel Jones, Steve Schultz, Bryce McCage, David Green and Jimmy Craft.
