David Colaw officiating. Mr. East was born February 28, 1936, at Ardmore, the son of Bill C. and Lilly Madewell East. He died Friday, November 24, 2000, in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He made his home in the Marietta/Ardmore area before moving to Bethany in 1992. Throughout his life Mr. East held various jobs including working in the logging industry while living in Oregon, and also with Reed Tool Company in Houston, Texas, producing oilfield equipment. Mr. East was also a truck driver and served in the U.S. Army. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and served part of his life as a lay minister. Mr. East also enjoyed researching Native American history. Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, J.W. and Ada R. East of Houston, Bill Amos East, Sr. of Goldman, Louisiana, and Matthew Cicle East of Bethany; one daughter, Sharon L. East of Houston; and four grandchildren, Daniel Lee Cooke, Christopher Lee East, Samuel James East and Bill Amos East, Jr. Mr. East was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Barbara Ann East. Pallbearers were family members J.W. East, Bill A. East, Sr., Matthew C. East and Daniel L. Cooke. Interment was in Orr Cemetery, Orr, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
