"Boe" Gilbert Services for E.D. "Boe" Gilbert, 60, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Leon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating. Mr. Gilbert was born April 12, 1941, at Leon, the son of William Delbert and Edna Margaret Miller Gilbert. He died Sunday, December 16, 2001, at his home in Marietta. A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Gilbert was a retired, self- employed concrete construction contractor. He also served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Gilbert was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Dal Gilbert of Marietta and Greg Gilbert of Lone Grove; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanna and Denny Ray Hester of Marietta and Kim Gilbert of Ardmore; a stepdaughter and step son-in-law, Lauri and Pual Conway of Aubrey, Texas; two brothers, Charles Gilbert and Johnny Gilbert of Lone Grove; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and B.J. Emberling of Marietta; and eight grandchildren, Jesse, Dray, Niki, Taylor, Brent, Shannan, Ty Reid and Lexie. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darryl Mack Gilbert, on August 7, 2001. Pallbearers were David Hollar, Roy Wade, Jimmy Don Pearson, Wayne Rains, Doyle Gilbert and Ronnie Voyles. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Buckaloo, Blackie Moore, Dan Hartman and Jimmy Williams.
