Keith Barbee officiating. Mrs. Wester was born March 11, 1918, in Amity, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earle G. Roling. Her family moved to Durant when she was a baby. She attended elementary grades at Russell High School in Durant and graduated from Durant High School. She and Truman Wester were married in 1937 in Durant, and they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on October 30, 2000. Mrs. Wester attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant for one year, then quit school to help her husband through college. The Wester family lived in Ardmore, Edmond, Holdenville, Durant and Norman before moving to Denison in 1967. Mrs. Wester worked for a few years at Grayson County College as a library assistant, but her real joy was caring for the couple's three daughters and helping with the grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker for her husband and family. Mrs. Wester was a member of the First Baptist Church, but during recent years she was in failing health and did most of her worship through television programming. She was also a member of the Denison Lions Club. Mrs. Wester was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Freda Barbe of Santa Cruz, California. Survivors include her husband, Truman Wester of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna and Walter Causey of Meeker, Jana and Jerry Crew of Oklahoma City, and Nancy and Steve Alley of Denison; grandchildren, Scott and Shelley Myers of Chickasha, Jeff Causey of Irving, Texas, Kerry Causey of Duncan, Carol Causey of Ada, and Lacy Alley of Denison; two great- grandchildren, Morgan and Mason Myers of Chickasha; a sister and brother-in- law, Mattie Sue and Walter Hanson of Springfield, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Sandra Bonds of Denison; and two aunts, Zula Cooke of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Anna Mae Wester of Cushing. Pallbearers were Dr. C.J. Smith, Frank Graves, Jerry McAlister, Lyndol Irby, Bill Ashburn and Dr. Wayne Delaney. Honorary pallbearers were Albert W. Brown, Bill Wilcox and Jack Lilley. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Dr. Truman Wester Presidential Scholarship Fund, 6101 Grayson Drive, Denison, TX 75020.
