Officiating was Rev. Dwight Hawkins with eulogy by family. Born November 3, 1911, at Golden, the daughter of W.W. "Will" and Alice F. Johnson Stricklind, Mrs. Reed died March 22, 1999, at her residence at the age of 87. A resident of Love County most of her life, she married Elmer R. "T" Reed on November 10, 1934, at Jimtown. Mrs. Reed was of the Church of Christ faith since the summer of 1967. She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, John and Wanda Reed of Overbrook, Austin and Joyce Reed of Ardmore, Alvie and Laura Reed and Donnie and Betty Reed of Leon, and Ronald and Sue Reed of Choctaw; a daughter and son- in-law, Elizabeth and Eddie Campbell of Wynnewood; a son-in-law, Wayne Gipson of Mustang; two brothers, Edd Stricklind of Crockett, Texas, and Buster Stricklind of Bakersfield, California; two sisters, Bertha Harris of Leon and Willie Bearden of Marietta; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband on April 20, 1981; two daughters, Ruthie May Mullins on May 6, 1994, and Alice C. Gipson on August 6, 1998; two sisters, Thelma Coker and Blanche Dean; a brother, Carrel Stricklind; and a granddaughter, Angela G. Welch on April 2, 1994. Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Randy Reed, Mark Reed, Harlon Mullins, Garland Gipson, Greg Campbell, Shane Reed, Dink Reed, David Reed and Gaylon Gipson. Grandchildren were honorary bearers.
