Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Memphis with the Rev. Gene Jorgenson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Ferrel was born in Thackerville, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Ferrel on Aug. 16, 2001; a her grandson, John Michael Ferrel. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Jester and Carolyn Kay Hightower, both of Amarillo; a son, John M. Ferrel of Memphis; five grandsons, Gale Jester, Dale Jester, Darrell Hightower, Richard Jester and John Mark Ferrel; two granddaughters, Melenda "Mendy" Hightower and Shelly Coleman; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Fairview Cemetery, 721 Robertson St., Memphis, TX 79245. The body will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Boxwell Brothers in Amarillo, and at the church in Memphis from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday.
