Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary of University Christian Church. Interment: private. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Funeral Home. Memorials: His memory may be honored with a donation to Cook Children's Medical Center or the Charles T. and Mary L. Floyd Scholarship Fund at Texas Christian University, TCU Box 297045, Fort Worth, Texas 76129. Charles was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Marietta, Okla., to George William Floyd and Gladys Stubblefield Floyd. He was a graduate of R.L. Paschal High School in 1942 and served in the Navy on the Pacific front during World War II. He attended TCU through the V-12 program and graduated in 1948. Charles married Mary Louise Holmstrom in 1949, and they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary Thanksgiving Day. He began working as an accountant for the Sid Richardson Carbon and Gasoline Co. in 1948 and retired as administrative vice president more than 40 years later. Charles served as president of the TCU Alumni Association in 1967. He had been a member of Colonial Country Club since 1967, during which time he served as a member of the board from 1973-89 and a member of the tournament committee from 1983-95. He was elected president for the 1980-81 term and was inducted into the Pride of the Plaid at Colonial in 1993. He enjoyed playing golf at Colonial with his regular foursome. He was a member of University Christian Church, where he served on the board. He also served as a board member of the Petroleum Club and as president of the Sid Richardson Foundation. Survivors: His loving wife, Mary; daughter, Shelley Cochran, her husband, Curtis, and their children, Tyler, Thomas and Kyle; daughter, Lesley Holt, her husband, Peter, and their children, Travis and Hayley; daughter, Courtney Ray, her husband, Donny, and their children, Lindsay, Mary Ashley and Charlie; brother, the Rev. George William Floyd; sisters, Geraldine Karol, Sybil Danna and Wanda Bushnell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
