Roy Hannah and Tim Cooke officiating. Mrs. Buckhanon was born September 22, 1923, in Leon, the daughter of George W. and Julia B. Browning Arthur. She died Friday, October 19, 2001, at her residence at Falconhead. A resident of Falconhead for the past 19 years, Mrs. Buckhanon graduated from Leon High School. She and Calvin O. Buckhanon were married September 10, 1948, at Gainesville, Texas. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Buckhanon was a member of the Leon Church of Christ and was currently attending Marietta Church of Christ. She was involved in the Falconhead Craft Club. Survivors include her husband, Calvin O. Buckhanon of the home; a son, Arthur Buckhanon of the home; a daughter, Georgia Ann Ramon of Ringling; a sister-in- law, Odessa Hunt of Overbrook; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Buckhanon was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers were Dewayne Buckhanon, Lee Buckhanon, Carrol Gilbert, Erik Ramon, Blake Ramon and Arnie Ramon. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Leon Church of Christ. Interment was in Leon Cemetery, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta. Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice or The Tipton Children's Home, c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
