Jason Langley officiating. Mrs. Gray was born June 26, 1908, at Spurry, Texas, the daughter of James Riley and Bonnie Ann Sanders Jones. She died Sunday, December 3, 2000, in Ardmore. She came from Surrey County, Texas in a covered wagon with her family to New Wilson (Old Hewitt) at the age of eight and grew up and attended school at New Wilson, Simon, Post Oak and Blackjack. She and Oscar Lee Gray were married May 28, 1927, at Wilson, and they lived at Bryant and Simon communities where they raised nine children and three of her sisters, Marie, Mildred and Dollie. He preceded her in death January 3, 1969. Survivors include five sons, O.L. Gray and Roger Gray of Wilson, Danny Gray of Simon, Jimmie Gray of Greenville, Texas, and Richard Gray of Campbell, Texas; three daughters, Bonnie Hodges of Wilson, Jo Ann Kinney of San Angelo, Texas, and Carolyn McKinnon of Gainesville, Texas; two brothers, Dave Jones of Chula Vista, California, and J.R. Jones of San Diego; 54 grandchildren, 73 great- grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gray was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ima Jewell Simmons on June 24, 1995; four sisters, Dollie Evans, Maggie Easterwood, Mildred Banks and Marie Beck; two brothers, Arvel Jones and Fred Jones; two grandchildren, Angela Morgan and Gayle Grissom; and two great-grandchildren, Josh Collett and Colby Reason. Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were the granddaughters. Interment was in Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
