                        Obit for Glen R. Hankins

Services for Glen R. Hankins, 86, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Monday,
October 16, at Marietta's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Higle
officiating.

Mr. Hankins was born August 24, 1914, in Lincoln, Arkansas, the son of O.C. and
Sadie Goins Hankins. He died Friday, October 13, 2000, in Mercy Memorial Health
Center, Ardmore.

A resident of Love County since 1962, Mr. Hankins was a rancher. He and Eddie
Jewel Gibson were married on December 12, 1937, in Littlefield, Texas. Mr.
Hankins was a member of Marietta's First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eddie Jewel Hankins of the home; one son and
daughter-in-law, Jim G. and Wilda Hankins of Pottsboro, Texas; two brothers,
Fred Hankins and Tommy Hankins, both of Eldorado; three grandchildren, Dana
Michaelis, Shannon Glen Hankins and Emily Diane Hankins; one great-grandson,
Austin Michael Michaelis; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hankins was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Serving as pallbearers were Shannon Hankins, Mike Michaelis, J.R. Gibson, Ron
Bond, Vern L. Hankins and Rex Tomlinson. Honorary pallbearers were T.J. Welch,
David "Doc" Nichols, Reed Tomlinson, Butch Sykora, Paul Lane, Jackie Drennan
and Stephen Gibson.

Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts
Funeral Home.
