Reddout *********************************************************************** Obit for H.E. "Jack" Yocum Graveside services for H.E. "Jack" Yocum, 76, of Courtney, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 10, at Grady Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Morris officiating. Mr. Yocum was born May 26, 1925, in Grady, the son of Oliver M. and Sarah Ann Sullivan Yocum. He died Friday, December 7, 2001, in Marietta. Mr. Yocum attended school in Courtney. After leaving high school, he joined the Army 106th Infantry, 27th Division, Company E, and fought in World War II, winning the purple heart. After the war Mr. Yocum went to work for Lone Star Gas Company. He later retired to work on the family farm full-time. He and Maude Ivie were married. Mr. Yocum was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Maude Yocum of the home; a daughter, Jacquelyn Renee Yocum of Ardmore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Yocum was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Otis Yocum, Floyd Yocum, R.A. Yocum and Ike Yocum; and four sisters, Odessa McComas, Frances Lambert, Fay Landrum and Leora Yocum.
