Fergueson Services for Howard L. Fergueson of Marietta were Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Shady Dale Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Castanos officiating. Mr. Fergueson was born November 20, 1910, at Post Oak, Texas, the son of Simon Young and Ira Bell Langston Fergueson. He died April 9, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 88. Mr. Fergueson and the former Carmia McCain were married December 25, 1936, at Paducah, Texas. They moved to Marietta from Ivanhoe, Texas, in 1968, and Mr. Fergueson worked as a cement finisher until his retirement from the construction industry. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Fergueson enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, playing dominoes and gardening. Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Maurine Fergueson of Kingston, Norman D. and Joyce Fergueson of Longview, Texas, Donald Fergueson and Mary of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kenneth and Lottie Fergueson of Jacksonville, Texas, Larry and Rise Fergueson of Marietta, and Paul and Mary Sue Fergueson of Red Oak, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and David Corgnell and Ann and Butch Shafer of Kingston, and Betty Jolly and Tony McCammon of Shell Knob, Missouri; a brother, James Fergueson of Boswell; two sisters, Mae Towery of Thorndale, Texas, and Fay Hubbard of Austin, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mr. Fergueson was preceded in death by his wife on February 16, 1988; and a brother, Lewis Fergueson. Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Brandon Fergueson, Eric Fergueson, Greg Fergueson, Kelly Mason, Gilbert Mason and Gene Shafer. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Duggins, Sammy Duggins, Nelson Wooley, Kelvin Fergueson and Joe Fergueson.
