Reddout *********************************************************************** Obit for Herman R. Shankles Graveside services for Herman R. "Ham" Shankles of Ardmore were Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Burneyville Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. J. B. Lovelace. Mr. Shankles was born September 25, 1911, at Burneyville, and died February 25, 1999, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, at the age of 87. He was the son of Bill and Minnie Frazier Shankles. A retired farmer and carpenter, Mr. Shankles had lived in Ardmore since 1960. He and Mary Roe were married October 14, 1933, at Ardmore, and she preceded him in death on December 12, 1988. Mr. Shankles was of the Baptist faith and also an avid fisherman. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Dottie Shinn of Burneyville; a special niece, Sarah Morgan of Lone Grove; three sisters, Opal Billingsley of Oklahoma City, Billie Jo Shankles of Noble and Betty Jean Irey of Mesa, Arizona; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Shankles was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home.
