Reddout *********************************************************************** Obit for Juanita Alma Brintle Services for Juanita Alma Brintle, 84, of Leon, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Leon Baptist Church with the Rev. David Shue officiating. Mrs. Brintle was born December 29, 1916, at Rubottom, the daughter of W.C. and Anna Mae Gatlin Stockton. She died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore. A resident of the Rubottom and Leon area all of her life, Mrs. Brintle was raised by her grandfather, George Stockton, and her uncle, Leonard Stockton. She and L.A. "Nig" Brintle were married July 17, 1934, at Leon, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 1978. Mrs. Brintle was a homemaker and a member of the Leon Baptist Church where she taught a Ladies Sunday School class, sang in the choir, was active in the WMU and assisted with Vacation Bible School. She attended Keltner Grade School and graduated from Courtney High School on May 9, 1934. Mrs. Brintle enjoyed reading. Survivors include a sister, Pearl Lowe of Gila Bend, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Nadine Hearon of College Station, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brintle was also preceded in death by her parents, her grandfather, George Stockton, and her uncle, Leonard Stockton. Pallbearers were her nephews. Honorary pallbearers were Ott Ladner, Woodrow Kendall, Buddy Clark, Boog Taliaferro and Archelowe Terrill. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
