Idell Jr. Graveside services for J.C. Idell Jr., 77, of Iraan, Texas, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Restland Cemetery in Iraan with the Rev. Jesus Galindo officiating. Mr. Idell was born January 24, 1924, in Thackerville, and died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at his home in Iraan. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a production manager for Helmerich Payne before his retirement. Mr. Idell had lived in Iraan since 1946, and was a member of the Iraan Christian Church. He was also a member of the Iraan Lions Club, the Cemetery Association, past member of the NRA Rifle Club of Iraan, the Iraan Golf Club, and the Iraan Senior Citizens. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Nanette Idell of McCamey, Texas; three sisters, Lois Roberson and Helen Young of Gainesville, Texas, and Mary Pace of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, James Idell of McCamey, Kevin Idell of Crane, Texas, and Pamela Holden of Denver, Colorado; seven great- grandchildren, Howard Tarpley, Julianne Idell, Shelby Wright, J.W. Idell, Brody Idell, Adam Wright and Sidney Idell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Idell was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, in September 1989.
